Seeds

Players can be seeded in your tournament after the checkout process is complete.

For a knockout tournament, navigate to the “Bracket” administration settings page.

For a round-robin tournament, navigate to the “Groups” administration settings page.

You will see each player listed with an input field beside their name where you enter their seed. Set the player’s seed, then hit the “Set” button to apply the change. Reload the page at any time to see your seeded players listed in order of their seed.

Seeding a Knockout tournament

Seeded players are separated across the bracket in a tradtional seeding manner.

Seeding a round-robin tournament

Seeded players are placed in groups in a traverse and reverse-traverse manner as follows:

• Your groups are ordered by number (Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, etc…)
• Your first batch of seeds are placed into each group in that order (Seed 1 to Group 1, Seed 2 to Group 2, Seed 3 to Group 3, etc…) until you run out of groups
• The seeded players are then added to groups in the groups’ reverse order
• The group order then reverses once again once the seeds reach Group 1, and the process repeats.

For example, if you have 4 groups and 10 seeded players, your seeded players will be placed in the following groups:

- Seed 1 - Group 1
- Seed 2 - Group 2
- Seed 3 - Group 3
- Seed 4 - Group 4
--- We have hit the end of the groups, so the pattern reverses
- Seed 5 - Group 4
- Seed 6 - Group 3
- Seed 7 - Group 2
- Seed 8 - Group 1
--- We have hit the end of the groups again, so the pattern reverses again
- Seed 9 - Group 1
- Seed 10 - Group 2
