Push Notifications Setup Guide (Android + iOS)
This guide explains how to install the Darts Atlas notification app on your phone and enable push notifications.
Use Your Default Browser First
You must use your deviceās default browser for setup.
- iPhone / iPad: use Safari (required for iOS web push).
- Android: use your default browser (Chrome recommended).
If you are on iOS and open Darts Atlas in Chrome, switch to Safari before continuing.
Open Push Notifications in Darts Atlas
- Tap your profile photo in the top-right corner of any page.
- Go to Account Settings.
- Go to Push Notifications.
- Follow the instructions on the page.
Android (Chrome Recommended)
Install to Home Screen
- Open the Push Notifications page in Chrome.
- Tap the browser menu (
ā®). - Tap Add to Home screen or Install app.
- Confirm installation.
Enable Notifications
- Open the new Home Screen app icon.
- Tap Enable Notifications.
- When Android prompts for permission, tap Allow.
Test It
- On the same page, tap Send Test Notification.
- You should see a test notification.
iPhone / iPad (Safari Required)
Important: On iOS, web push requires Safari and Home Screen installation.
Chrome on iOS is not supported for this workflow.
Install to Home Screen (Safari)
- Open the Push Notifications page in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Tap Add to Home Screen.
- Tap Add.
Enable Notifications
- Open the Home Screen icon you just added.
- Tap Enable Notifications.
- When iOS prompts for permission, tap Allow.
Test It
- On the same page, tap Send Test Notification.
- You should see a test notification.
Common Issues
āEnable Notificationsā does nothing
- Make sure you opened the Home Screen-installed app icon, not a normal browser tab.
- On iOS, make sure you are using Safari (not Chrome).
No notification appears
- Tap Send Test Notification again.
- Check phone notification settings:
- App/browser notifications are allowed
- Lock screen banners are enabled
- Do Not Disturb / Focus is off
Android says app already installed but icon is missing
- Check your app drawer for the installed web app and remove it.
- Reinstall from the Push Notifications page.
Reinstall after branding/icon updates
- Remove old Home Screen app/shortcut.
- Re-add from browser.
- Re-enable notifications if needed.
Privacy Note
Push notifications are linked to your signed-in account and this specific device install.
If you remove the Home Screen app, you may need to install and enable again.
